THIS PROCEDURE IS FOR '00 AND UP J-BODIES WITH A BODY CONTROL MODULE.

-THE BCM IS LOCATED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE KICKPANEL UP INSIDE THE DASH, ABOVE THE HOOD RELEASE.

-THERE ARE 3 PLUGS THAT PLUG INTO THE BCM.

-UNPLUG THE MIDDLE PLUG.

-THE MIDDLE PLUG HAS TWO ROWS OF WIRES MARKED "A" AND "B".

-FIND THE WIRE "B-6", "B" ROW, #6. IT IS A DARK BLUE WIRE.

-CUT THIS WIRE ABOUT 3" FROM THE PLUG SO YOU HAVE WIRE TO WORK WITH IN THE FUTURE IF YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO STOCK.

-SPLICE ON AN EXTENSION WIRE TO THE PLUG SIDE OF THE BLUE WIRE AND SIMPLY GROUND IT TO A SCREW ON THE DASH SUPPORT, LIKE THE ALDL CONNECTOR SCREW.

-THIS TRICKS THE BCM INTO THINKING THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON, HENCE NO DRL'S.

DON'T WORRY, IT WON'T MAKE THE HEADLIGHTS-ON REMINDER CHIME COME ON WHEN THE CAR IS OFF.

JUST FYI: DRL DISABLE IS TYPICALLY RESERVED FOR VEHICLES USED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES.

 

AROSPEED COILOVER TIPS:

PROBLEMS WITH ARSOPEED COILOVERS? READ ON...

-THE SHORT SPRINGS AND SLEEVES ARE FOR THE FRONT.

-THE LONG SPRINGS AND SLEEVES ARE FOR THE REARS.

-THE EARLIER KITS HAD 4 EQUAL LENGTH SPRINGS.

-TRANSFER OVER THE BEARING PLATE FROM THE STOCK UPPER SPRING LOCATOR TO BETWEEN THE TOP HAT AND STRUT MOUNT. THIS SHOULD HELP IN TURNING AND NOISE REDUCTION.

-GREASE THE SPRING ENDS, TOP HAT-TO-BEARING, AND BEARING-TO-STRUT MOUNT SURFACES TO REDUCE NOISE

-REMOVE THE LOWER SPRING PERCH FROM THE REAR SHOCK TUBES, THEY ARE A SLIP-FIT ONTO THE SHOCK BODY. THE REAR SLEEVE SHOULD SIT ALL THE WAY DOWN ONTO THE SHOCK BODY.

-CUT OFF THE LOWER SPRING PERCH TO DROP THE FRONT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE SLEEVE. DO NOT CUT IT RIGHT UP NEXT TO THE STRUT TUBE...LEAVE A LEDGE FOR THE SLEEVE TO SIT ON.

-USE THE HEAVIEST O-RINGS INSIDE THE REAR SLEEVES, OVER THE SHOCK TUBE TO PREVENT SLEEVE RATTLE NOISE AND ADD STABILITY TO THE SLEEVE.

-CUT YOUR BUMP STOPS AT LEAST IN HALF OR SHORTER FOR INCREASED TRAVEL. DON'T ELIMINATE THEM COMPLETELY OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THE TOPS OF THE STRUTS, SHOCKS, AND POSSIBLY THE SLEEVES IF YOU ARE DROPPED ALL THE WAY.

-ALWAYS CLEAN THE SLEEVE THREADS OF ANY ROAD GRIME BEFORE ADJUSTING THE NUTS. DIRT INSIDE THE SLEEVE THREADS WILL GALL UP AND RUIN THE ALUMINUM THREADS. NOT GOOD.

-GREASE YOUR STUFF EVERY OIL CHANGE TO KEEP THE KIT QUIET AND IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
